App: DentAlignment
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Contact / Data requests: office@dentalignment.rs

Thank you for using DentAlignment. Protecting your privacy and the security of your data is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, your rights, and how to contact us.

1. Summary — in plain language

  • DentAlignment helps you monitor your teeth-straightening journey, manage appointments, set reminders, and track progress.
  • We collect personal information you provide (name, email, phone, appointment details), certain app activity (usage, progress tracking, optional photos you upload), and technical diagnostics.
  • We may share data with service providers who help operate the app (booking providers, hosting, analytics).
  • You can request deletion of your data — contact office@dentalignment.rs.
  • If you are a parent and a child under the applicable minimum age attempts to sign up, please contact us immediately.

2. What information we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:

a. Information you give us directly

  • Account & contact details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Appointment data: requested/confirmed appointments, dentist/clinic selected, scheduling details.
  • Optional health/treatment information you submit: treatment notes, progress observations, photos of your teeth (progress photos), questionnaires about symptoms or compliance. Note: any health-related information you provide is treated as sensitive personal data — we only process it with your explicit consent.
  • Messages & support: any messages you send to us or to your dentist via the app.
  • Payment & billing info: if you make payments through the app we will collect payment details via a third-party payment processor (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).

b. App & device information (automatically collected)

  • App usage data (features used, session times, settings).
  • Device identifiers and operating system version, crash logs and diagnostics, IP addresses, and performance metrics.
  • Permissioned data: if you grant permission, the app may access your camera (to take progress photos), photo library (to upload images), calendar (to add appointments), and notifications (to send reminders). You can decline permissions; some features will then be unavailable.

c. Aggregated / anonymized data

  • We may aggregate or de-identify data for analytics and product improvement; aggregated data cannot reasonably be used to re-identify you.

3. How we use your information

We use your data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve DentAlignment features (progress tracking, reminders, appointment booking).
  • Process and manage bookings and related communications with clinics/dentists.
  • Send important notices, confirmations, and optional promotional messages (with your consent).
  • Analyze app usage and performance, troubleshoot problems, and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We will only process sensitive health information where you have provided explicit consent or where required/allowed by applicable law.

4. Sharing & third parties

We may share your personal data with:

  • Service providers who perform services on our behalf (hosting/cloud providers, analytics, push notifications, payment processors, appointment booking partners). These providers are contractually limited to use your data only for the services they perform.
  • Dentists and clinics you select when booking an appointment — they will receive the appointment details and any treatment information you choose to share.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction (we will require transferee to honor this policy).

The Play Store listing for DentAlignment indicates that the app may share Personal info and App activity with third parties. We disclose this sharing and require our partners to protect your data.

5. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, as of the effective date, the app’s Play Store listing indicates “Data isn’t encrypted.” Where encryption is not in place, there is increased risk during transmission or storage. We are committed to improving security and will notify users about significant security changes. Please contact us at office@dentalignment.rs if you want details about our current technical safeguards.

6. Data retention

  • We retain account and contact information for as long as your account is active.
  • Appointment and treatment-related records: retained as necessary to provide services and to meet legal or professional record-keeping obligations (in many jurisdictions medical/dental records are retained for several years). If you want a specific retention period, contact us.
  • Usage analytics and aggregated data: retained in anonymized or aggregated form indefinitely for product improvement unless you request deletion and it is technically feasible to remove.
  • Once you request deletion of your account and personal data, we will delete or anonymize your personal data from active systems within a reasonable time, subject to legal obligations and residual backups.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete or request restrictions on processing of your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a commonly used machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.
  • Opt out of direct marketing and analytics tracking where applicable.

When we transfer data across borders, we will put in place appropriate safeguards required by law (such as standard contractual clauses) where applicable.
